Second Lines

The second line is a brass band parade; the “main line” or “first line” is the main section of the parade – in our case, the bride & groom in front followed by the band – and then “second line” is us everyone one else following and dancing behind. Participants often twirl around a feathered parasol or handkerchief, and this is called “Second lining.”

1) Second Line Band Only (We offer a 6 piece brass band (Tuba, Trombone, Trumpet, Sax, Bass and Snare Drum) We can do smaller packages upon request.

We can provide a New Orleans flavor to your wedding by escorting the wedding party in traditional New Orleans parade style from the church to the reception. We can perform at the reception and also do a colorful New Orleans second-line parade through the reception and can also march the newly weds out of the reception at the end. We can do all or any combination of the above. We can do second lines, wedding receptions, parades – you name it!

IF DOING A SECOND LINE IN THE STREETS – YOU ARE REQUIRED BY NEW ORLEANS LAW TO HAVE PERMITS. LAGNIAPPE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACQUIRING PERMITS

STREET PARADE PERMIT INFORMATION:

COST $50.25
The Application for Parade Permit, paid for only by Cashier’s Check or Money Order.
Payable to the City of New Orleans.

COST $100.00/Per Officer needed for your escort, payable in cash due on the day of the wedding.
The parade route and size will determine the number of officers needed.
